Totally False: Telangana Cadre IAS On Reports Of Deputation!
Adding further she said that she would continue to serve the state and execute the responsibility which the Telangana government allots to her
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 Dec 2023 7:38 AM GMTDue to the change in government in Telangana, we are seeing many changes. As a big change, four Commissioners were appointed transferring the existing ones. Senior IPS Officer Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy was appointed as the Hyderabad Commission. The officers took charge of their respective offices.
With the changes in Commissioners, reports started doing rounds that senior IAS officer Smita Sabharwal might opt for a deputation to the Central government from the Telangana Cadre. A few media channels also reported the news on the possible change of cadre of the IAS Officer.
These reports gained momentum as she was not seen in the review meeting held for the Irrigation Department despite being the Chief Secretary of the department. With this, an opinion was started that she might take the deputation. But the IAS officer gave a new twist to the tale.
Reacting to these reports, Senior IAS officer Smita Sabharwal said that there is no truth behind this and the news that is being circulated is nothing but fake news. She also dubbed the news as false and baseless.
Adding further she said that she would continue to serve the state and execute the responsibility which the Telangana government allots to her. She said that she is proud to be part of the state’s journey.
"I see some news channels have reported a fake news- that I am going for central deputation, which is widely circulated. It is totally false and baseless. As an #IAS officer of Telangana cadre, I will continue to serve and execute whatever responsibility the Government of Telangana deems fit for me. Am proud to be part of the journey of my state," Smita Sabharwal said on X.
The 2001 batch Indian Administrative Service(IAS) officer held various positions in the previous government and she was also appointed to the Chief Minister's Office. Smita Sabharwal also served as the Mission Bhagiratha Department Secretary.
