The reason for this is, Police kept a special focus on social media posts. The AP Police Department specially constituted a team of 130 experts for this. The team will monitor the social media accounts continuously with the latest technology. We have to say that, currently, there are very few people who are not active on social media.
More than individuals, political parties use social media mostly. As the elections are approaching, every party has set up a social media wing. Hundreds of people were recruited and the parties are using them for the campaign. There will be no issues if the parties campaign in favour of them. However, to highlight their positive side, the parties are spreading negative campaigns against the opponents.
This brings up an issue. The problem has two dimensions. One is that the parties spread negative campaigns against the opponent parties. The second problem is that the supporters and active activists in the party spread negative campaigns against the opposite parties on their own. The rise in the two issues is increasing the fights. Sometimes, social media posts also result in law and order issues.
With this, the Andhra Pradesh Police department set up a new team that specially monitors social media and there will be 130 experts in the team. Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Rajendranath Reddy said that the team will especially focus on Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Twitter accounts. The Police department set up a new team to deal with people who work on creating unrest in society with an iron fist. Cases would be filed and they would be punished. As of now, experts would be called if required. But a special team was set up keeping the next elections in mind.
