No Elections Win In Decades, Still TDP Leader Gets Ticket!

Putting an end to the long suspense the Telugu Desam Party announced the third list of candidates for the upcoming elections. What makes the thire list special is that along with the MLA segments candidates for the MP segments were also announced barring a few seats.

Shocks and twists are part and parcel of the list as a few seniors who pinned high hopes on getting tickets faced a rude shock. Even the former Ministers were not lucky in this aspect.

But what caught everyone's attention is that a leader who did not win any election in the past few decades was given a ticket.Out of the blue he was given a ticket and this came as a big surprise to one and all.

Somireddy Chandra Mohan Reddy is a senior TDP leader who has been traveling with the party for a very long time. For the upcoming elections he was given a ticket from the Sarvepalle constituency.

The shocking thing is that Somireddy did not win the elections in the seat for a very long time. Since the early 2000s in the combined state he has been losing the elections.

If we look at his track record Somireddy lost elections from Sarvepalli in 2004,2009,2014 and 2019. He could not see success even in the TDP wave in 2014. Somireddy even lost the by elections in 2012 in another constituency.

It's been around two decades since he won the elections. Despite this he was given a ticket. He is a good speaker and known for talking on the right points in the debates. But this cannot be the reason to get the ticket.

With Somireddy getting a ticket while other seniors could not, many wonder if his closeness to party chief Chandrababu Naidu helped him in this regard.
