Narendra Modi took part in the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort. His turban caught everyone’s attention due to its specialty. It is said that the Prime Minister donned a Rajasthani-style Turban this time.

The Rajasthani Turban is a multi-colored one. The leheriya style Turban had orange, yellow and green colours along with a long tail. It is said that the Turban’s design drew its inspiration from the natural wave pattern in the Thar desert. It is prepared in the traditional tie-dye process.

Narendra Modi’s Turban became the talk of the town with everyone talking about this. It is said that to encourage the traditional style the Prime Minister opted for the Rajasthani Leheriya Turban.

This is not the first time Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged the local traditions in his turban for special occasions. In 2014 he opted for a Classic Rajasthani Turban. Cut to 2024 he donned the Rajasthani Turban again.
