We are living in an era where distinguishing false and real information is a big task.
By: Tupaki Desk | 12 Aug 2023 3:39 PM ISTWe are living in an era where distinguishing false and real information is a big task. Fake news gets spread easily that we cannot decide which is real and fake news. We can know the fake news due to the hard work of the fact-checkers.
The other side of this is that, sometimes people spread fake news to mislead people. In a shocking development, a TV anchor is said to have shared misleading information about the recent Nuh violence. The concerned anchor reportedly made misleading tweets that went to the notice of the cops.
As per the information, Mukesh Kumar, who is the resident editor of the Sudarshan News Tv was reportedly arrested by the Gurgaon police on the charges of tweeting misleading information on the Nuh violence. The misleading news was shared on his social media earlier this month.
In a tweet, the anchor said that the action against Hindus was taken by the cops after the Gurgaon police commissioner received calls from the Al Jazeera news channel. He also shared the picture of the Commissioner. The tweet went to the notice of the cyber branch and based on that he was arrested.
"The Gurgaon police commissioner is getting calls from the Al Jazeera news channel. They are exerting pressure to take action against Hindus. And after calls from the Deputy Commissioner, she is forced to pick up Hindu activists from anywhere. CM Haryana, please take note," the tweet he made loosely translates to English.
What happened in Nuh is very sensitive and following this false and misleading news was spread by many. This added fuel to the violence that saw the Nuh region on fire with many structures torched. A few vehicles were also damaged and put on fire.
The Nuh region in Haryana saw tense situations when two groups clashed. After the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) procession, attacks happened and a few people breathed their last in this. Dozens of people sustained injuries in the attack. After the violence, the cops held talks with both sides to see that the situation won't slip from the hand in the Nuh region.
