Special Moment: Sun Rays Offer Tilak To Ram Lalla In Ayodhya!

Today is a big occasion for the believers as it marks Sri Ram Navami. Believers of Lord Ram across the globe are celebrating it as it is observed to celebrate the birth of Rama. Temples were decorated for the occasion with devotees visiting the temples to offer their prayers.

Sri Rama Navami this time is very special as it marks the first festival after the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was inaugurated. Putting an end to the long dispute of 500 years, the Ram Mandir was inaugurated earlier this year in January. Devotees sent contributions which were used for the temple construction.

It was a massive spiritual experience for the devotees today as the Surya Tilak ceremony was performed. The visuals were released which show the light of the Sun touching the forehead of Ram Lalla’s idol.

No words can describe the experience of Surya Tilak as it appeared that a divine light was coming from the idol’s forehead. While devotees across the globe witnessed the Surya Tilak as the visuals were streamed online, people who were present at the temple were blessed to witness the rare experience directly.

It is said that what happened at the Ram Mandir is the brilliance of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-Central Building Research Institute (CBRI). Special mirrors and lenses were used for this so that the magical visuals would be created.

The special mechanism helped in guiding the Sun rays onto the forehead of the deity. The Swarabhishekam lasted for a few minutes. To see this, devotees reached the temple in the early hours. Compared to general days they attend the temple in big numbers.

The anticipation around the Ram Navami was quite high this time. When the temple was inaugurated the trust said that special arrangements were made so that the Sun rays reached the forehead of the idol. We can see a similar arrangement in Konark Temple. However, the Konark temple is dedicated to Sun God.
