On the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an announcement saying that the Cooking gas price would be cut by Rs 100. He said that the decision was taken for the women.
Now the Union Government has come up with another sensation by nominating a lady philanthropist to Rajya Sabha. Indian President Draupadi Murmu formally announced the nomination of Sudha Murthy to the Upper House. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated her.
Sudha Murthy deserves to be nominated to the Rajya Sabha. She is currently serving as the Chairman of Infosys Foundation. Founded in 1996 it aims to help the underprivileged sections. So far the trust carried out various development programs across fields like education, rural development, healthcare, and others.
The trust changed the face of the state-run schools in Karnataka by arranging computer and library facilities. Known for her simple nature Sudha Murthy is famous for her helping nature and carrying out Philanthropic work across the areas.
Sudha Murthy, a famous philanthropist is a recipient of the Highest awards. In 2006 she was honoured with the Padma Shri award. Last year she was awarded the Padma Bhushan award. Making 2024 a memorable year, she was nominated to Rajya Sabha.
Sudha Murthy was happy with this nomination and said that she has additional responsibility now. As the nomination came on Women's Day, she said that she is feeling double happy.
Sudha Murthy is Narayana Murthy’s wife. Narayana Murthy started Infosys which is one of the leading tech giants in the country. Their daughter Akshata Murty is married to Rishi Sunak, the serving Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
