Dattanna and Chandranna meet: Did they discuss politics?

Monday witnessed a strange meeting between two politicians from diametrically opposite camps. One is making a strong bid to recapture his lost glory, while the other is enjoying his gubernatorial leisure and wants to promote his daughter in politics. Naturally, the meeting raised quite a few eyebrows.

Haryana governor Bandaru Dattatreya and TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu met at the former's Ramnagar residence on Monday. Dattatreya and his wife Vijayalakshmi welcome Chandrababu Naidu and his wife Nara Bhuvaneswari. Later, both the leaders remained closeted for an hour.

While what transpired between the two leaders is not known and Dattatreya's office has said that it was a mere courtesy call, the analysts feel that politics must surely have figured during the meeting. The timing of the meeting is significant as Telangana is going to have elections within four months, while AP will go to polls eight months from now.

Sources say that Chandrababu and Dattatreya may have discussed the current political situation in Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, Dattatreya may have sought the support of Chandrababu Naidu for his daughter, who is all set to make a political entry in the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana.
