By: Tupaki Desk | 10 April 2024 10:21 AM GMTAhead of the elections, it looks like the TDP is not having a good time. The aspirants who pinned high hopes on tickets are ditching the party. Earlier we have seen how a few leaders took the ruling YSRCP making the TDP even weak. Even in the strong zones, the party is facing issues.
The Undi Assembly seat in the West Godavari district is among the strong areas of the TDP and it is the sitting position of the party. Earlier there was a big competition between sitting MLA Mantena Ramaraju and Shiva Rama Raju. However, the sitting MLA was picked by the party as he is active in party activities.
But Chandrababu Naidu gave a big twist and announced YCP rebel MP Raghu Ramakrishna Raju as the candidate. The sitting MLA who campaigned for the party and had a good rapport with the voters faced a big shock with this.
With this, all eyes are on Ramaraju to see what he would do in the wake of the party picking another candidate. Now it is said that the MLA took a big decision that might trouble the TDP.
As per the media reports, the sitting MLA is in plans to contest as the independent candidate. It is said that he wants to contest as the independent candidate even if the TDP grants him a ticket.
This is the twist that no one would have predicted. As Undi is the sitting position of TDP, many felt that the party would win the elections easily. But the ticket aspirants have different plans. It is said that Shiva Rama Raju already became a rebel leader in the constituency.
Adding fire to this, the sitting MLA reportedly wants to contest as an independent candidate. If this happens then TDP might face a tough challenge in Undi as two leaders want to go against the party.
