Telugu Desam Party and Janasena are in alliance and the two parties are working together on seat sharing and deciding the common candidates. While it is good for the parties the leaders are on the verge of losing tickets. Both parties will get seats as part of the alliance.

What would be the case of former Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao is the doubt many have. The sitting MLA might lose his seat as the BJP might be allocated the seat. Ganta represents the Vizag north seat.

For the past few days, it has been reported that we might see Ganta Srinivasa Rao vs Botsa Satyanarayana in the election as Ganta might be fielded as the candidate in the Cheepurupalli constituency.

Now Ganta Srinivasa Rao hinted at the possibility as he said that he was asked by the leadership to contest from the Cheepurupalli constituency and he will tell his opinion on this.

The MLA said that the leadership asked for his opinion and he would tell the same to the leadership after discussing it with his followers and supporters. However, he said that he wants to contest from the Vizag district.

Looking at his comments it looks like the ball is in Ganta’s court. The leadership proposed the idea of contesting the elections against Botsa Satyanarayana and asked for his opinion. If he accepts he might face the Minister. However, there is no clarity on what happens if the TDP leadership puts pressure on him on this.

The situation is such that TDP wants Ganta to face Botsa in elections. But he appears to be having other plans. He wants to contest from the Vizag district. Understandably, Ganta wants to play a safe game. He has been winning the elections in the Vizag region which makes it his strong zone.

If we look at the seats he won in elections they are in and around Vizag. He won the Chodavaram seat in 2004 as TDP leader and won the Anakapalli seat on the PRP ticket. He won the Bhimili seat as well. In the previous elections, he emerged victorious from the Visakhapatnam North Assembly constituency.
