T20 World Cup: India Needs To Address These Issues!

The T20 World Cup is underway. The tournament is providing massive entertainment to the fans. Talking about India, Men in Blue are on a winning streak as they won three consecutive times. India will reach Super 8 and it is where the main fight begins. Big teams would lock horns with each other.

The other day India and the USA locked horns. Though India won the match there are a few messages to the team. A few boxes should be ticked if we should have a good run in the journey to the World Cup trophy.

Batting Worries: The top order needs to get back to form. Be it Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli they should fire for the team. Making Virat Kohli open the innings is not giving any good results. In yesterday’s match, Virat was out on a duck. The opening pair should be changed.

A few former players said that Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal should open the innings and make Virat stick to his position of no 3.

Getting The Combination Right: India is yet to stick to a combination. We have players like Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal who can fire at the top positions. Despite this, they were made to sit on the bench. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja is yet to perform in the league. We have Kuldeep Yadav who can bowl well and make handy runs.

No one understands what the management is thinking about this. If the prepositions are set then we would have a big chance. Virat Kohli is not an opener and he has been playing at no 3 and won many matches. His 83* innings against Pak in the T20 World Cup 2022 is a big example of this.

If there is any department that is looking good then it is bowling. With Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh the department is looking strong. While Bumrah led the attack in the match against Pakistan it was Arshdeep Singh’s show in yesterday’s match.
