Telangana Bids Goodbye To 2023 With High Alcohol Sales!

Telangana has a special liking for liquor. Despite having a smaller population size compared to the other states, the youngest state in the country, Telangana always records big numbers in liquor sales. We have seen how people flocked to the liquor stalls when they were reopened after the lockdown.

At regular intervals, the state stood tall compared to other states in liquor sales. Usually, liquor sales are high throughout the year, but we get to see big numbers for special occasions in the state like Dasara and others. Yet again we got to see the potential of the liquor sales.

For the New Year occasion, record sales were recorded as per the information. In just three days close to Rs 700 crore worth of liquor was sold. It is said that 4.76 lakh cases of liquor and 6.31 lakh cases of beer were sold in three days across the regions.

Allowing the liquor shops to carry out sales till late hours might have played a big role in the state seeing big numbers in sales. Not just liquor, meat sales also increased rapidly as per the information. As liquor and stuff go hand in hand, chicken, mutton, and fish sales went up rapidly.

It is said that more than Rs 650 crores worth alcohol was sold in three days while Rs. 125 crores coming on Dec 31st. With this, we can understand how fruitful was New Year for the state in terms of alcohol sales.

This is not the first time the state saw record sales for New Year. With every year passing the state is seeing big numbers. The same happened with 2024 as well with the state bidding goodbye to 2023 with record sales.
