Telangana Cracks Down on Social Media Betting Promotion

The Punjagutta police have further expanded this crackdown, booking 11 more social media influencers for similar offenses. Among those implicated are well-known personalities such as anchor Shyamala, Vishnupriya, Supritha, Ritu Chaudhary, Harshasai, Tasty Teja, Pareshan Boys Imran, Kiran Goud, Ajay, Sunny, and Sudheer. These individuals find themselves accused under Sections 318(4) of the BNS, alongside Sections 3, 3(A), and 4 of the Telangana State Gaming Act, and Section 66D of the IT Act, 2008. This legal action underscores the Telangana government's commitment to eradicating the promotion of gambling through social media.
