By: Tupaki Desk | 12 Feb 2026 3:23 PM ISTThe twin Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have a considerably good GDP and annual income ratio. But for now, let us have a look at the monthly income index of the two Telugu states.
The data in the image highlights a clear income gap between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Andhra Pradesh reports an average monthly income of about ₹20,206, while Telangana stands much higher at roughly ₹29,713.
This means people in Telangana earn close to ₹9,500 more per month on average. The difference may reflect stronger urban growth, better job opportunities in Hyderabad, and a higher concentration of service and technology industries.
Andhra Pradesh, though developing steadily, still depends more on agriculture and traditional sectors, which often generate lower incomes. Looking at the national picture, a few states and union territories lead the income chart. Sikkim appears to have the highest average monthly income at around ₹48,978, showing the impact of tourism and government driven economic activity. Goa follows with about ₹41,054, supported by tourism and a strong service sector.
Delhi ranks next at nearly ₹38,492, benefiting from corporate presence and administrative importance. Chandigarh records roughly ₹33,304, reflecting its status as a planned city with high living standards. Telangana secures the fifth spot with ₹29,713, placing it among India’s top earning regions.
Overall, the comparison shows Telangana performing better than Andhra Pradesh in terms of average earnings, while smaller but economically active regions dominate the top positions.
