The Congress high command's decision on the constitution of the all-important Congress Working Committee (CWC) has left the leaders from Telangana shocked. In fact, all the factions in Telangana, including that of the PCC chief Revanth Reddy, are disappointed. More shocking is that the high command has given more importance to Andhra Pradesh than the Telangana state.

The Congress in Telangana is going to face a very tough election within a few months. The party is gearing up to take on both the BJP and the BRS. On the other hand, the Congress Party could not even get one per cent vote in Andhra Pradesh.

Yet, the party has made Koppula Raju, N Raghuveera Reddy, Thikkavarapu Subbarami Reddy and former union minister MM Pallamraju members of the CWC. However, only two persons – former deputy CM Damodar Rajanarsimha and former MLA Vamsichander Reddy – were chosen from Telangana.

Several leaders from Telangana like MLA Sitakka, considered close to Revanth Reddy, former ministers Uttamkumar Reddy, Sampath Kumar, Duddilla Sreedhar Babu and Madhu Yashki Goud lobbied hard for a slot in the Congress Working Committee. However, the party high command did not include them.

It appears that the party has decided not to make anyone a member of the CWC in Telangana because of the continuing fight between the PCC chief and the seniors. The seniors have been demanding more slots for them in the CWC. Hence the party leadership has ignored the claims of all the seniors in the party.
