BRS to become empty in GHMC?

By: Tupaki Desk | 11 Feb 2024 5:55 AM GMTTill recently, the BRS was on the ascendAnt. But, one election has changed everything. The party has never found itself to be this weak and vulnerable. Everyday, some leader or the other is quitting the party and is joining the rival parties. There is pretty little that the party leadership, be it the foxy KCR or his son KTR is able to do.
After former deputy mayor Baba Fasiuddin’s jump into the Congress, the BRS finds that it is nothing but a pot with a hole at the bottom. As many as 24 of its corporators, who till recently, lorded over the GHMC, are getting ready to jump into the Congress bandwagon. An exasperated KTR had said that the party would not be affected by the desertion of its leaders. He said that the party would bounce back soon.
Now it turns out that a former mayor of the party is planning to leave the BRS and join the Congress. The former mayor has been upset over denial of party ticket to him in the 2019 and 2023 elections. He is said to have been in consultations with the Congress leaders and can switch sides any time.
If this happens then the BRS will be left with no corporator in the GHMC. The only consolation for the party is that senior leader Mote Srilatha Sobhan Reddy has said that she will not leave the BRS. She said she has been a disciplined soldier of the party and that she would remain with the party.
