The unfortunate incidents involving Indians living in other nations continue to hit the headlines raising severe concerns and fears about their safety there. In one such incident, an Indian student who hails from Telugu land was stabbed with a knife making him sustain serious injuries.
It is known that recently we heard about an unfortunate incident of a Khammam native named P Varun Raj attacked by a person. He was stabbed with a knife at a gym. Following this, he was rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment and he is under treatment. As per the media reports, Varun Raj’s health condition is critical and the local media say that his survival chances are very low.
Talking about the reasons for the critical health of the victim, it is said that his brain stem was damaged which led to his critical health. His family and friends are worried about the situation and they are praying for his good health.
Treatment costs in the United States are very high and everyone cannot afford it if they don't have any medical insurance. In the wake of this, the Telugu body North American Telugu Society (NATS) came forward with an initiative to start a fundraiser for the victim. The money would be spent on his treatment.
On the other hand, Valparaiso University where the victim was pursuing his studies said that they are giving their best efforts to make sure that the victim’s family comes to teh US and they will extend support to the investigation.
Talking about the incident, earlier last week Varun who went to the US to pursue computing and information sciences was stabbed with a knife by a local person identified as Jordan Andrade. The accused was arrested and sent to police custody and he is facing multiple charges. He is expected to be produced before the court soon.
The United States reacted to the issue and condemned what happened. In response to the attack, the US State Department is believed to have said that they were shocked by what had happened to the victim.
A State Department spokesperson was quoted by the media reports as saying that they were deeply disturbed by reports of the incident. Talking about the victim’s health condition the spokesperson said that they are praying for his speedy recovery.
