Big Question In TDP: What Was Achieved With The Surveys?

“The upcoming elections are very crucial and we should make sacrifices. Based on the surveys and the image they have in public the candidate would be picked. I can't do anything if anyone feels bad,” TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu used to say this often. But what did he do? Did he implement what he said? There was a lot of buzz around the surveys. But nothing happened. Leaders who lost the elections were also given tickets.

For example, take Sarvepalli seat in Nellore. Former Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy has been losing the elections and he lost five consecutive elections. The party circles felt that change is inevitable. But the party surprised everyone by giving a ticket to Somireddy again. By this, the path was cleared for the YCP. In the Chintalapudi constituency, a new face was given a chance. Soma Roshan was announced as the candidate.

However, it is said that people are not ready to vote for a new face in Chintalapudi. Peethala Sujatha was confident of getting the ticket and even met the people. There is also a talk that she might win if she is given a ticket. But she was ignored and Roshan was given a chance. In the past few years, Roshan was not active in party activities and the constituency. The Vijayawada East seat is allocated to Gadde Rammohan despite the talk of his graph coming down.

Muddaraboina Venkateswara Rao has been working hard for the party in Nuzvid. He was sidelined and Kolusu Parthasarathy who did not even join the party was given the ticket. On which survey basis he was given a ticket is the question. The same is the situation in Mydukur(Kadapa). Putta Sudhakar Yadav who has been failing to win the elections was given a ticket again. There is a demand that he should not be given a ticket. Only Chandrababu knows on what basis Putta Sudhakar Yadav was given a ticket. Keeping it in simple terms there was a lot of difference in what Chandrababu said on surveys and what was implemented.
