Telangana geared up for the intense General elections. As per the schedule, the D-day for the elections is 30th November which is today. The polling process at the booths started at 7 in the morning and will last till this evening 5. All the arrangements have been made for the elections.
On the other hand, a few hours before the intense elections an alleged face-off between Andhra and Telangana Police forces happened which was completely unexpected and unasked for. As per the information, this shocking incident happened near the Nagarjunasagar Dam earlier today.
As per the information that is coming from the media outlets Andhra Pradesh police personnel reached the dam and said they have the authority on half of the gates of the dam. They set up a barbed wire fence at the construction.
It is said that the AP Police forces locked horns with the Security Personnel Force (SPF) and the CCTV cameras set up there were reportedly damaged leading to tense situations at the dam.
The unexpected development reached the notice of the Miryalaguda DSP Venkatagiri he went there along with a few personnel to sort out the issues. However, the AP Police Personnel did not respond to the talks and the DSP left the spot with no option left.
The shocking thing is that both sides having a fight at the dam is not a new thing and we have seen this a few times. The new incident marks the third such incident. Earlier in 2015 a similar thing happened in which two sides had a clash.
It's been close to ten years since Telangana was carved out of the combined state. However, there are a few disputes between the states to date that need to be sorted out and the water-sharing dispute is one of them. At regular intervals, we get to hear such incidents.
