Actor Vijay Richer Than Tamil Nadu CM!

It is already known that Tamil Nadu politics are starting to spice up as the Assembly elections are barely three weeks from now. Now let us have an interesting look at the election affidavits filed by the candidates.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has declared a total asset worth of Rs 9.70 crore in his affidavit, covering both his own assets and those of his spouse Durga Stalin. His movable assets stand at Rs 3.30 crore while Durga Stalin’s movable assets are valued at Rs 1.32 crore, bringing the combined movable total to Rs 4.63 crore.

On the immovable side, Stalin declared Rs 2.96 crore and his spouse declared Rs 2.11 crore, adding up to Rs 5.07 crore in immovable assets. In sharp contrast, TVK chief and actor Vijay has filed his nomination for the Perambur assembly constituency with a staggering asset declaration that dwarfs the Chief Minister’s figures.

Vijay disclosed movable assets worth Rs 405 crore and immovable assets valued at Rs 115 crore, putting his total declared wealth at Rs 520 crore.

The numbers speak for themselves. Vijay is more than 53 times wealthier than the sitting Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, at least on paper. While Stalin leads the state government, the actor turned politician enters the electoral arena with a financial standing that few in Tamil politics can match.
