The Kartavya Path was all decked up for the big celebrations marking the Republic Day of India. The parade was held by various wings. French President Emmanuel Macron is the chief guest of the celebrations on the occasion. For the past few years, India has been inviting guests from other countries and this time Macron was invited.

Emmanuel Macron reached the iconic Kartavya Path in the national capital Delhi along with Indian President Droupadi Murmu. The two reached the spot in a buggy that is pulled by six horses. The guest reaching there in the buggy caught everyone's attention.

On the eve of Republic Day let us know the interesting story behind the buggy. Everyone knows that the British ruled India and left the country marking the journey of India as an independent nation.

When India and Pakistan were partitioned a few assets were distributed between the two countries. Both countries wanted to get the buggy. But both sides could not get on to a common opinion on who gets to keep the iconic buggy which was once used by the viceroy of the British.

A strange clause is made to decide who keeps the buggy. A toss was called for which went in favour of India. With this, the buggy was given to India. Since then, it stayed with India. In the initial years, the buggy was used for formal events.

Earlier the buggy was used in 2014. Now the same buggy is used for Republic Day to carry the guest to the venue. He was accompanied by the Indian President. They received a royal welcome at the venue. These pictures went viral on social media.
