Andhra Pradesh is among the poll-bound states which will face the general elections along with the Lok Sabha elections. With this, interesting things in the state concerning the elections are getting a wide range of attention. Recently an interesting thing came out which says that a person was elected as MLA despite not getting a deposit in elections.

Winning an election is very tough as many factors play a key role in this. We have seen how popular faces also lost the elections. But there are a few constituencies in which three generations of leaders were elected to the house.

Prathipadu Assembly constituency: The seat comes under the Guntur region. Senior politician Parvata Gurraju won the 1955 elections from the seat. He was a Congress leader then and he won the seat with a big margin. Cut to 1994, his son Parvatha Subbarao won the seat. In the elections, he managed to get a 58% vote share. In the next elections, Bapanamma, Gurraju’s daughter-in-law won the elections. In 2009 his grandson Satya Narayana Murthy also won the seat.

Gudivada Family: Three generations of the family members won the Assembly elections. While two generations won the elections from one seat, the third generation won the elections from another seat.

The Guidvada family’s legacy was started by Gudivada Appanna. He won the Pendurthi seat back in 1978. His son Gudivada Gurunadha Rao won the seat in the 1989 polls. He was also a Lok Sabha member. Gudivada Amarnath who is the third generation leader won the 2019 elections from the Anakapalle seat. He is the serving IT Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
