The ongoing World Cup reached the semi-final stage. Out of all the teams, only four teams will reach the semis. The tournament became even more interesting as South Africa reached the semis unexpectedly. Defending champions England was knocked out of the tournament. Afghanistan impressed many with its performance. India is famous for batting-friendly pitches. With this, many predicted that there would be a flood of runs. Barring a few matches, this was proved. Batsmen are going all guns blazing.

He Is At The Top:

The ongoing World Cup in which ten teams played was held in a round-robin league as every team played against the other nine teams. India scripted history by winning all nine matches. As the league matches were finished the focus went on to the players with the highest runs. Let us have a look at them. Run Machine Virat Kohli is at the top place as he scored 594 runs in nine matches. South Africa’s dashing opener Quinton de Kock is in second place with 591 runs. New Zealand opener Rachin Ravindra who is having a dream run in the tournament scored 565 runs. Team India captain Rohit Sharma scored 503 runs. Australian opener David Warner scored 499 runs and South Africa one down batsman Dussen scored 442 runs. Mitchell Marsh who earlier opened matches a few times and changed his batting order now had scored 426 runs. Team India Middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer scored 421 runs and New Zealand middle-order batsman Daryl Mitchell scored 418 runs. England opener Dawid Malan scored 404 runs.

9 Players To Play Semis:

Interestingly nine out of ten players are playing in the semis. Only England opener Dawid Malan missed the list. We have to wait and see who among Kohli and de Kock would top the list. Rachin has the chance to surpass them. Though Rohit Sharma also has the chance, Virat and de Kock should fail for this. The same is the case with Warner. Dussen, Marsh, and Iyer might enter the top-5 list. Kohli, Rohit, and Iyer from India are on the top-10 list. Two players from South Africa(de Kock, Dussen), two Australian batters(Warner, Marsh), and two New Zealand players(Rachin, Mitchell) are also on the list.
