ED Notices To Tollywood Stars: What’s Next?

The latest developments are suggesting that the enforcement directorate (ED) has started to serve notices to Tollywood stars who are allegedly involved in the gambling promotion activities. Telugu stars like Vijay Deverakonda, Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj and Manchu Lakshmi received notices in this matter.

On a related note, it is now being established that these stars have been instructed by the enforcement directorate to appear before them for investigation over the next few days.

However, it must be primarily noted that both Vijay and Rana had already publicly communicated that their endorsements are completely legal and happened within legal constraints.

In particular, Vijay confirmed that his ad was played only outside the Telugu states in legal areas. He is expected to make a similar argument in front of the Ed officials now. He has been instructed by the authorities to appear for investigation on August 6.

Prakash Raj and Manju Lakshmi had also stated that they had legal terms for their respective ads and conveyed the same to the authorities. It has to be seen, what would be the reaction now?

With the national agency itself getting involved, it has to be seen in which direction this case would lead now as preliminary evidence gathering is happening now, and those without proper documentation might face the consequences.

Even the public is calling for a detailed investigation in this matter henceforth and the ED is best suited for this job.
