Indian Fans Losing Interest In Cricket? What’s The Solution?

The amount of Cricket that is being played by big teams globally has gone up consistently over the last 5 to 6 years. In fact, India is currently on a tour in multiple formats, almost on a monthly basis these days.

This has resulted in a complete saturation of the market as the Indian cricket fans are no longer waiting patiently for the upcoming series either. For instance, we have the ongoing series against West Indies, which is able to create very little public discourse.

Previously, when there was a tournament featuring India, they used to be a lot of anticipation and hype surrounding the same. But that is not even remotely the case now as people have started to get hungover with excessive cricket.

This is essentially leading to a discussion that India must seriously start considering playing bigger teams in order to revive the interest of Indian cricket fans.

Playing against teams like Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, West Indies and others will not cut the job for India. When there is a major series that is planned with big teams like Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, there is a lot of anticipation associated with it.

This is perhaps the possible solution for Indian Cricket management at this point in time as they must seriously start considering playing against bigger teams in order to validate the efforts of fans.

Bigger teams will come with bigger competition, and this is exactly what Indian Cricket needs at this point in time and even fans have been patiently waiting for the same.

The upcoming World Cup in Australia is going to be one of the final anticipated series as it will also mark the retirement of players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Keeping up the interest of fans after the retirement of these two legendary players is going to be a tough task.
