This prestigious ranking, put together by Resonance Consultancy with Ipsos's collaboration, places New York and Paris in second and third places, respectively. London's sustained leadership in this ranking highlights its global appeal and multifaceted strengths across various sectors.
Continuing the list, other global powerhouses like Tokyo, Singapore, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin, and Sydney fill the subsequent spots, making up the top ten. These cities, renowned for their cultural, economic, and social significance, have been identified through a comprehensive evaluation conducted by Resonance, a leading advisor in real estate, tourism, and economic development. This recognition serves as a testament to the cities' ongoing efforts to enhance their global standing.
The survey aimed to determine the most desirable cities worldwide, asking participants which cities they wished to live in, visit, or work in. Garnering responses from 22,000 individuals across 31 countries, the study offers a broad perspective on global city preferences and aspirations. Notably, the United States saw 36 of its cities making it into the top 100, showcasing the country's significant presence in the global urban landscape.
In contrast, major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad did not secure a position in the top 100. Chris Fair, CEO of Resonance Consultancy, shared with Reuters news agency that these cities were not included in the list, highlighting the competitive nature of the global city rankings and the challenges faced by cities aiming to break into the top echelons of the list. This absence underscores the ongoing development challenges and the need for continued improvements in various sectors within these cities to enhance their global appeal.
