In 2025, software engineers continue to earn strong salaries across major Indian cities, with clear differences based on location and demand.
Leading the list is Bengaluru, where the average salary stands at ₹33.65 LPA. Known as India’s tech capital, the city offers the highest pay due to the concentration of global tech companies and startups.
Hyderabad follows closely with an average salary of ₹30.26 LPA. Over the years, it has grown into a major IT hub, attracting top talent and significant investments from multinational companies.
Delhi NCR ranks third, offering an average of ₹21.38 LPA. While it has a strong tech presence, salaries are slightly lower compared to the southern tech hubs. Pune offers ₹19.54 LPA on average, supported by its growing IT parks and established software companies.
Mumbai and Chennai offer similar pay scales, with ₹18.42 LPA and ₹18.29 LPA respectively. Both cities have steady demand for tech professionals, though not at the scale of Bengaluru or Hyderabad.
