The unique feature of the present assembly elections in Telangana is that all the three top leaders of the main contending parties are contesting from two seats each. While KCR is contesting from both Gajwel and Kamareddy districts, Eatala Rajender, the spearhead of the BJP campaign, is contesting from his borough of Huzurabad and Gajwel.

Similarly, TPCC chief Revanth Reddy is contesting from two seats – Kamareddy and his own constituency of Kodangal. Thus, chief minister KCR has tough contest on hands in both Kamareddy as well as Gajwel, where two key leaders are taking on him. This makes the contest quite tough for KCR.

KCR is in a spot of bother in Gajwel as some local leaders are upset with him for being inaccessible. There is a clear anti-incumbency in Gajwel among the land oustees and those seeking housing schemes. BJP candidate Eatala Rajender is well-connected and well-entrenched in Gajwel constituency as his businesses and poultry farms are in the same constituency.

The last time a politician contested from two seats was Pawan Kalyan in 2019. He contested from Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram and lost from both the places. Earlier in 2009, his brother Chiranjeevi contested from two seats. While he lost Palakole seat, he managed to win from Tirupati seat. Earlier, NTR contested from three seats and then continued with Gudivada and Hindupur.
