The TDP thinking heads strongly feel that it can trounce the ruling YSRCP fair and square in this district if there is an alliance with the Jana Sena. The Jana Sena secured significant number of votes in each of the seven assembly constituencies in the 2019 election.
In Bheemili, the TDP is quite strong. Though the party had lost in the 2019 elections, it still managed to secure 92000 votes amid a massive Jagan wave. The Jana Sena too had secured 25000 votes. Given the anti-incumbency, the YSRCP is finding itself on a weak wicket. The combined might of the TDP and Jana Sena could upset the YSRCP this time.
In Gajuwaka, which the YSRCP had won, the combined strength of the Jana Sena and the TDP could spell the doom for the ruling party. In fact, the TDP got 54 K votes and Jana Sena’s Pawan Kalyan got 56 K votes. In Pendurthi, another seat that the YSRCP had won, a united front can defeat the party.
TDP had won four seats. Of them, Vizag east is firmly with the party. In both East and west seats,, the YSRCP does not have strong candidates. In two other seats too, the TDP is quite strong. Given these circumstances, the YSRCP appears to be in for a serious drubbing in Vizag district, say political pundits.
