Tough Fight In Undi: Ex-MLA As Independent Candidate?

The upcoming elections are very crucial for the opposition TDP as it needs to come back. Having lost the 2019 elections, it needs to make a comeback or else its future would be in question. Another reason is that this is the worst performance of the grand old Telugu Desam Party since its inception.

TDP entered an alliance with Janasena and BJP also joined them. With this, everything changed and a lot of changes happened. The candidates were changed due to the alliance as the ally parties should also be accommodated.

It is known that the Undi Assembly seat, a strong zone of TDP, went through a lot of changes. The sitting MLA and former MLA fought over the seat and the MLA was given a ticket by the leadership. But the sitting MLA faced a big blow with Raghu Rama Krishna Raju getting the Undi seat.

However, it is now said that the former MLA might make it tough for the TDP by contesting as the independent candidate. Sivarama Raju who won the Undi seat in 2009 and 14 tried his luck from the Narsapuram seat and Raghu Rama Krishna Raju won the seat.

With this Sivarama Raju pinned high hopes that he might get the Undi seat. But sitting MLA Ramaraju was given the ticket initially. But Raghu Rama Krishna Raju became the TDP candidate later.

Sivarama Raju was not happy with this and it is said that he is gearing up to file the nomination as an independent candidate. The media reports say that he might file the nomination papers soon. Ramaraju's followers and supporters are said to be unhappy with Raghu Rama Krishna Raju becoming the candidate all of a sudden. As if that is not enough Sivarama Raju might contest as an independent candidate to make the fight in Undi tough for TDP.
