Technology plays a major role in our day-to-day life and we cannot imagine our lives without the support of technology and its advancement.
Artificial Intelligence is the current phenomenon in technology and the latest tech is making wonders. Now researchers have shown the world what the technology can do with their latest innovation. A transistor was developed which functions similarly to the human brain.
Like how the human brain processes and stores information, the newly developed synaptic transistor also does the same work. The specialty of the transistor is that it comes with a new advantage of higher-level thinking.
Researchers at Northwestern University, Boston College, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have had a collective success in adapting the technology and making the best out of it for their study.
The synaptic transistor they developed can be dubbed as a technological miracle as it functions like a human brain. We have seen machines doing the given tasks. But it is more than that.
Not just doing the tasks, the transistor can possess the information and also categorize the given data. It is said that the researchers took inspiration from the human brain for the study.
Such kind of study is not new. Earlier studies were conducted to develop computing devices that function like human brains. But the issue with the devices is that they function in only cool temperatures and they cannot perform in certain temperatures.
But the synaptic transistor is beyond such issues and troubles. It can function at room temperature and the additional advantage is that it functions at a quick speed that too with less energy.
The research work and studies to come up with human-brain-like devices is not new and it has been going on for some time. But the latest technology can be seen as the best output so far as the transistor is said to be capable of functioning effectively in the real world.
