KTR entered politics unexpectedly in 2006. KTR did not like the thought of merging TRS into the Congress and when KCR decided to do this after the state formation. KTR said that even his wife thought like him on the merger. He said that after KCR merges his party into Congress he decided to retire from politics.

KTR said that he did not even like visiting Sonia Gandhi’s house along with the family. While going to Sonia’s house “I told Harish Boss this might be my last program. I want to retire from the party. I am not fond of merging into Congress”. After lunch, Sonia did not talk about the merger. When KCR talked about this, she said to speak to Digvijaya Singh. KTR said that Digvijaya Singh said like how Praja Rajyam Party was merged into Congress TRS would also be merged in the same way and they will do what they should do after the merger. KTR said that due to the behavior of senior Congress leaders, they had to think again about the merger with Congress. “KCR is not the reason for the merger not happening.
