Leave India Or Pay 25% Tariff: Trump Ultimatum To Apple!

The President of United States, Donald Trump has been taking several momentary decisions that have been affecting the country’s geopolitical situation. His tariff war with China has resulted in a deep mess, and the repercussions are still being felt.

In this context, Donald Trump has issued a new ultimatum to Apple, and this has become a topic of discussion already.

The latest communication from Trump is that he has warned Apple to shut down manufacturing operations in Indian or else they will have to pay the US government a 25% tariff.

“I have long ago informed Tim Cook of Apple that I expect their iPhone's that will be sold in the United States of America will be manufactured and built in the United States, not India, or anyplace else. If that is not the case, a Tariff of at least 25% must be paid by Apple to the U.S. Thank your for your attention to this matter!” Trump stated.

This is essentially an ultimatum from Trump that he would levy 25% tariff on Apple if they don’t shift their operations from India to the United States.

This comes at a time when Apple has been rapidly enhancing its manufacturing plants in India due to the prevailing tariff war between United States and China. Meanwhile, Apple had recently made it clear to the Indian government that they would be going on with their investment and manufacturing plans here.
