The United States president Donald Trump has imposed a massive $100K fee on H1B Visa for immigration population. This is going to be a huge concern for the Indian working community in the United States, who are likely to face the brunt of the attack.

The United States has announced a new rule that increases the H-1B visa petition fee to $100,000. This is a very big jump from the earlier fee, which was only a few thousand dollars. The rule is expected to apply only to new H-1B applications and not to renewals or people who already have the visa. The White House has also clarified that it is a one-time fee and not something that will be charged every year.

This change has created a lot of concern in India, as many Indian professionals and IT companies depend heavily on H-1B visas.

The Ministry of External Affairs has said that the Indian government is discussing this issue with U.S. officials. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar even held talks with senior American leaders in New York to raise the matter.

The Indian foreign minister confirmed that the move is still in process and the exact facts are likely to emerge in the future based on the decisions taken by either governments.

Experts believe this fee hike will increase costs for Indian IT firms like Infosys, TCS, and Wipro. Some of these costs may be passed on to clients, but companies may also hire more local employees in the U.S. or move more work back to India.
