Defamation Case: Court Slaps A Big Jolt To Donald Trump!

However, his happiness did not last long as he faced a big jolt. A jury gave a verdict directing him to pay $83 million to a writer-columnist in a defamation case. The New York Court ruled out that he is guilty and asked him to pay the money including the compensatory damages.

The Court gave the orders hearing the defamation case filed by writer E Jean Carroll against Donald Trump. In the defamation suit, the writer said that Donald Trump caused damage to her credibility and damaged her prestige. The sexual attack on her by Donald Trump happened back in 1990 as per the writer.

The world got to know about the incident when E Jean Carroll mentioned this in her book. The book created a sensation in the United States and outside the nation as well as Donald Trump's name was taken. He openly denied the allegations and dubbed it as an attempt to hinder his image.

Now the issue has taken a big turn with the Court ruling out that Donald Trump should pay the big amount in the defamation suit. The money includes $7.3 million(compensatory damages), $11 million(repair of her reputation), and $65 million(punitive damages).

Donald Trump who faced a big shock with this said that he would appeal the verdict. On the occasion, he also expressed concerns about the legacy system in the country. We have to wait and see what would be Donald Trump's next step.

What's shocking is that the verdict in the case came months after E Jean Carroll faced a favourable case in another case. When she filed a defamation case in a sexual assault case, the Court gave orders directing Donald Trump to pay $5 million. Now he was asked to pay a big amount in the suit.
