By: Tupaki Desk | 28 Aug 2025 10:07 AM ISTTirumala Tirupati Devasthanam board is supposed to be away from politics, but that is not happening now as TTD Board chairman BR Naidu made a series of sensational allegations against former CM YS Jagan.
Naidu alleged that Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was involved in a land scam involving the allocation of 20 acres of land to Mumtaz Hotel near Tirumala, a sacred site. The claim is that Jagan Mohan Reddy used threats and coercion, including pointing a gun at Ajay Kumar, to forcibly take the land, which was originally intended for a different project under a public-private partnership agreement in 2008.
This allegation in link with the controversy surrounding the Mumtaz Hotel project, which has faced opposition from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) seers and devotees due to concerns about violating the sanctity of the seven holy hills.
The TTD board had earlier decided to reclaim the land, reflecting ongoing tensions between commercial development and religious sanctity in the area.
Not stopping there, BR Naidu alleged “In 2008, under PPP, 30.32 acres of land.. an MoU was signed for the Devalokam project. Out of which, 20 acres were allocated to Munthaj Hotel by Jagan, who threatened Ajay Kumar.
To allocate the land to Munthaj Hotel, Jagan personally called Ajay to Tadepalli, threatened him with a gun at point-blank range, took back the 20 acres, and allocated them to Munthaj Hotel. This is the written complaint given by Ajay Kumar.”
The fact that the TTD chairman himself is saying that Jagan had used a gun to threaten to grab lands is as shocking as it can get. It has to be seen in how the Jagan camp would react to the situation now.
