By: Tupaki Desk | 25 Feb 2026 10:52 AM ISTIt is already known that Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay is currently active in politics, and he is looking to take Tamil Nadu by a storm with his TVK party. Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, the political party launched by actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay, continues to dominate conversations ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election.
Social media posts and have been circulating this week claiming that TVK will win between 175 and 180 of the 234 seats, quoting close party leader Bussy Anand making the prediction. Anand is a close friend of Vijay and he has a tall prediction on the coming elections.
These posts have gained traction among supporters and followers online, though major news outlets have not independently verified this exact seat estimate from a formal TVK press statement.
TVK has been actively preparing for the election campaign. Recently the party formalised its organisational structure by appointing a team of election observers under senior leaders like N Anand and K A Sengottaiyan to oversee poll work across Tamil Nadu and neighbouring Puducherry.
The party is also debating whether Vijay should personally contest a seat, with cadres urging him to stand from Perambur in Chennai, a stronghold seen as key for TVK’s political momentum.
Meanwhile, Vijay has been sharply critical of rival parties, especially the incumbent DMK, framing the election as a historic battle against “money-power politics” and positioning TVK as a people’s movement.
At this stage, the 175–180 seats prediction is circulating widely on social media and among supporters, but mainstream election projections from major outlets have not confirmed it as an official forecast.
