Union Minister Responds To Actress Fake Video Row!
Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar reacted to this and said that the fake video is a dangerous form of misinformation and such practices should be avoided.

The discussion on the negative impact of the technology started after a fake video of actress Rashmika Mandanna went viral on social media. The video set social media on fire with netizens raising serious concerns about the threat the technology poses.
When the viral video is doing rounds on social media, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar reacted to this and said that the fake video is a dangerous form of misinformation and such practices should be avoided.
The Minister talked about the category of fake video and dubbed it a dangerous form of misinformation. Having said this, the Minister observed that such forms should be dealt with an iron fist by the platforms.
On the occasion, the Minister stressed the commitment of the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to safe internet usage and highlighted the IT rules notified for the platforms to be followed.
The Minister said that the platforms should make sure that no misinformation is posted and if any misinformation is reported the content should be brought down within 36 hours. Adding further, the Minister said that the platforms should follow the rules or else they can be taken to the court by aggrieved person under rule 7.
"Under the IT rules notified in April, 2023 - it is a legal obligation for platforms to: ensure no misinformation is posted by any user AND, ensure that when reported by any user or govt, misinformation is removed in 36 hrs,” the Minister said on social media.
Talking about the viral video, the original one was of British-Indian model Zara Patel. Weeks after the original one was posted online it was changed by using the face of Rashmika Mandanna.
