Social media influencer is one of the booming careers in the country. Youngsters are taking up this career and earning big money. Brands prefer working with them to promote their products. Their rise is that even political parties hire them to boost the campaign and we have seen this a few times.

However, the influencers have something to worry about with the new policy as far as social media is concerned. Any content that goes beyond the guidelines would land them in big trouble. They would also attract heavy punishments.

The Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanth which is known for taking big decisions is said to have brought a new social media policy.Objectionable content and anti-national content would be barred and those who post it would face severe consequences.

Reports say that the new social media policy in Uttar Pradesh talks about giving strict punishment for those who post objectionable posts and make comments. The punishments range from three years to a life term.

The policy regulates the platforms on various social media platforms. If any objectionable content is found then legal action would be taken. At the same time, the government schemes and initiatives would be promoted on platforms as the ads would be given.

A section of people is supporting the idea as objectionable content would be stopped. Due to the rise of AI, we are seeing doctored and morphed videos. Even the politicians are not safe from this as they have become the target a few times.

However, there are a few concerns around this as a few fears that the social media influencers might face some restrictions on the content they push on social media platforms.
