Several major organizations across different sectors have recently announced large scale layoffs, impacting thousands of employees worldwide.
The United States Government, under the Department of Government Efficiency known as DOGE, has reportedly cut around 3,17,000 jobs. This is one of the biggest workforce reductions in recent times and has created serious concerns about job security and economic stability.
Among private companies, UPS has announced 78,000 job cuts as part of restructuring efforts. E commerce giant Amazon is reducing 30,000 employees to control costs and improve efficiency.
Technology companies are also affected. Intel plans to cut 25,000 jobs, while Microsoft is laying off 15,000 workers. These decisions reflect the ongoing slowdown in the global tech industry.
