In this context, there is something interesting that is happening now as a United States Senator has spoken about the difference between India and China.
US Senator Steve Daines has spoken about the between India and China, describing India as a trusted ally and friend of the United States while underscoring the deep trust between the two countries.
Speaking at the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Leadership Summit, Republican Senator Steve Daines said he takes extraordinary precautions while visiting China but not India.
"When I travel to China, my phone does not go to Beijing with me. It stays in Washington. But when I travel to India, this phone comes with me.
That is an example of a highly trusted ally and friend. I can't do that in China," Daines said, using the anecdote to highlight what he called the fundamental difference in America's relationship with India and China.
It is evident that the United States bureaucracy and authorities are placing more trust in India than they what place on China, and this is ultimately a good thing in terms of diplomatic value.
But more importantly, the United States must be more proactive when it comes to creating new employment opportunities and investments in India, which is the crucial point of difference here.
