Students aspiring to pursue higher education in the United States often face the challenge of securing visa interview slots, particularly during the fall season, which typically commences in mid-August. Visa dates are usually released gradually starting from March. However, this year, there is concern as the dates have not been released as expected by this time. It's been speculated that the interview dates will only be available 60 days before the academic year begins, causing anxiety among students who fear they may encounter difficulties with such short notice.

Additionally, there's uncertainty regarding the process for students who face rejection in their visa interviews. Previously, students had the opportunity to reapply for the visa interview up to three times if slots were available. However, reports suggest that the US government has decided to limit this to two attempts going forward. This decision has left parents worried about their children's prospects, especially if they fail to secure a visa in the slots released in June and July, with classes starting in August.

Moreover, there's a separate concern regarding tourist visa slots, particularly at the Hyderabad consulate. While student visas are issued regularly, obtaining a tourist visa often entails a lengthy wait, ranging from days to even a year. Despite an increase in the number of visa interview counters after the consulate's relocation, there's still dissatisfaction regarding the release of interview dates.

Overall, the delay in visa interview slot releases and the limitations imposed on reapplication attempts have stirred apprehension among students and their families. The uncertainty surrounding visa acquisition raises questions about the timely commencement of classes for visa holders intending to study in the United States.
