Bad News For H4b Visa: Indians In Trouble Again!
Now they have started on H4B visas, which has become another big headache.
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 Jan 2026 5:43 PM ISTThe work permit visa associated with United States have become a tough proposition. In the recent past, we have seen the United States immigration authorities cracking down on the H1B visa. Now they have started on H4B visas, which has become another big headache.
Thousands of H-4 visa holders in the United States are facing renewed uncertainty as delays in issuing Employment Authorization Document cards continue, even after applications have been approved.
Many dependents of H-1B professionals say they have received approval notices months ago but are still waiting for the physical EAD cards, leaving them unable to work legally.
For many families, the delay has resulted in sudden job losses, unpaid leave, and financial stress. Several H-4 EAD holders reported that employers were forced to terminate or pause their employment because the actual card had not arrived, despite official approval. In some cases, individuals who had stable jobs for years were left jobless overnight.
Immigration attorneys say the problem appears to be linked to processing backlogs and card production delays at USCIS. While premium processing has helped speed up approvals for some applicants, it has not resolved the issue of delayed card delivery. This gap between approval and card issuance is proving costly for workers and employers alike.
Advocacy groups are urging USCIS to address the issue urgently, warning that prolonged delays undermine the purpose of granting work authorization. Until the system improves, many H-4 EAD holders remain stuck in limbo, approved on paper but unable to earn a living in reality.
