By: Tupaki Desk | 20 July 2026 11:22 AM ISTFor the first time in the United States history, a sitting Vice president has welcomed a newborn child, and this happened with JD Vance and his Telugu origin wife Usha announcing the arrival of their fourth child yesterday.
Vice President JD Vance and his wife, second lady Usha Vance, announced the birth of their fourth child on Sunday. This happens to be the first born to a sitting vice president in more than 150 years in the United States, political history.
Born on Sunday, Alec Neel Vance joins older siblings, 9-year-old Ewan, 6-year-old Vivek and 4-year-old Mirabel. This news was confirmed by the vice president himself earlier today.
It is very interesting to note that the incompetent vice president of the United States had earlier not given birth to their children while holding the office. This could have been because of multiple reasons, including age and political factors.
But nevertheless, it is extremely good to see the current vice president and his Telugu origin wife Usha who happens to have her family roots in Vizag create a new piece of history in the United States.
“We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning. Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother," the statement from vice president Vance says.
This would further instate that a Telugu piece of history has been scripted in the United States politics with Usha being the first mother in the last 150 years to give birth while being the second lady of the country.
