It is known that a large portion of the Indian population has settled down in the United States in such of better employment opportunities and living conditions there. But life is not always rainbows and sunshine, as we are hearing multiple cases of abnormalities.
The latest developments are suggesting that another Indian has sadly passed away in the United States while going on a hiking adventure.
This accident happened in the Big Pines Lake area in California when an Indian origin doctoral student had gone on a solo hiking trip and could not return back safely. This is yet another addition to the list of mysterious deaths of the Indian community members in the United States.
On 6 August 2026, Indian-origin PhD student Vikram Mubayi, a chemical engineering doctoral candidate at the California University, was found dead after going missing during a solo hike in Big Pine Lakes area.
He last contacted his family on August 1, sharing his GPS location and family reported him missing after he failed to return.
His physical remains have been recovered by the rescue authorities who had arrived on this spot, but the nature of this passing has not been established yet. The local emergency teams have concluded that there is no evidence of foul play or forced activities in the circumstantial evidence that they have found till now.
But again, we have been hearing several of cases of Indian students, mysteriously passing away in the United States and this is a matter of concern to the entire community. Proper caution needs to be exercised at all times.
