The intense war between Hamas and Israel was halted and an agreement was made that both sides would release the prisoners they had. What happened is news that needs to be welcomed. The war which had been going on for one and a half months saw a slight halt giving a big relief.

When the war which was started recently halted with a small peace talk, the focus went on to the aggressive Russia-Ukraine war which has been going on for a few months. Big nations like the United States and others tried their best to stop the war. But the efforts did not give any positive outcome.

Russian President Vladimir Putin created a sensation with his words. During his speech at a virtual meeting of G20 leaders, the President said that Moscow never refused peace negotiations with Ukraine and they are open to the talks.

"Russia has never refused peace negotiations with Ukraine. It is not Russia, but Ukraine that has publicly announced that it is withdrawing from the negotiation process," the President said.

Adding further, the Russian President claimed that the head of the state(Ukraine) signed a decree which prohibits the peace talks negotiations with Russia and Russia was never against the talks and they are very much welcoming the talks, he said.

The Russian President made some unexpected comments and said that military actions are a tragedy for people but everyone should think about stopping the tragedy and giving relief to people.

The big shock in the issue is that it was Russia that started the war on Ukraine to settle the decades-old issues. Despite this, the President is saying that Moscow is ready for the peace talks and Ukraine is not ready for the same. Let us wait and see what Ukraine has to say on this.
