Voters and contestants in the LB Nagar Assembly constituency which falls under the Greater Hyderabad limits are having a new issue now. The last date to withdraw the nominations ended recently and we got clarity on the candidates who will be in the election race. After the deadline, 48 candidates made it to the final race. While the candidates have a new tension, it is said that voters will also have a headache.

The large number of contestants is the reason behind this. EVMs are being used to cast the votes. EVMs can accommodate just 16 numbers. But there are 49 candidates in the race including the NOTA. With this fout ballot units should be used. As one EVM has 16 names, there should be four EVMs for the voters.

The observers say that the voters might have a tough time identifying the candidate whom they want to vote for out of all candidates. It is also said that having multiple ballot boxes is also a tension for the candidate. With this, there is a need for the voters to be cautious while casting their votes.

If we look at the overall picture in Telangana there are around 54 constituencies where 16 or more candidates are in the election race. In 55 constituencies 16 to 31 candidates are in the race. With this, observers say that in these candidates two EVMs should be used in the polling booths. On the other hand, there are nine constituencies where 32 to 47 candidates are in the race. Based on the candidates count the EVM machines should be set up.
