Water Crisis: Big Questions On Bangalore Hosting IPL Matches?

The summer season has started and we are expected to see a scarcity of water. Even before the summer season started Karnataka started seeing issues with water supply. A big water crisis had gripped the capital city of Bengaluru. People who earlier used to talk about the traffic in the city are now talking about the water crisis.

As an example of this, the state government also addressed the issue. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shiva Kumar said that the city is dealing with the crisis and said this is the biggest water crisis in the past few decades.

The ongoing water crisis is said to have raised a new doubt on holding IPL matches in Bengaluru. As per the first leg of the schedule, Bengaluru is supposed to host three matches. The RCB team will play three matches against different opponents.

Due to the water crisis, there is no clarity on the matches. It is said that the state cricket body called for a meeting to take a call on this. Reports say that the Karnataka State Cricket Association would hold a key meeting to decide the matches. At the meeting, a key decision can be taken on whether or not to hold the matches.

More water consumption is required for the cricket matches. In the wake of the current situation, it would be a big task for the cricket association to conduct three matches. The gap between the matches is just a few days.

A large amount of water is required for the pitch for the matches. Allocating water for the match is not an easy task understanding the water crisis. Considering all these factors the state cricket association is said to have decided to go for a meeting.

After considering the opinions of the members the body might take a call. It would not be a wonder if the RCB fans miss a chance to witness the matches in the stadiums.

No words can describe the impact of the water crisis in the capital city. It is said that the amount paid to the water tankers had doubled almost. Reports say that residents of a few gated communities are going to malls to use the washrooms.
