The count of fatalities has been increasing with each passing day. As many victims were trapped under the constructions the fatalities count is increasing as the dead bodies are being unearthed. The officials also gave a red alert as a safety measure.

As reported by India Today the death count went past the massive 300 mark. It is said that so far 308 people have died in connection with the disaster. On the other hand, more than 200 people sustained injuries in the landslides.

The rescue operations have been going on for four days. The teams are busy with rescue operations in the affected areas. The rescue teams have divided the areas into zones for the operation.

Helicopters and Drones are also being used to help the stranded victims. With the help of drones, the teams are searching for the stranded victims and saving them.

The rescue operation squad included six trained dogs to dig out the victims. As an additional force, four dogs would be added to the squad. These dogs will help trace the trapped victims and carry them to safety.

Wayanad and other regions might face rainfall for a few more days as per the predictions. With this India Meteorological Department (IMD) gave a red alert. It looks like the possible rainfall might affect the rescue operations.
