What Next If Sharmila Is Denied Paleru Seat?

YSRTP President YS Sharmila is making steps to merge her party into the Congress party. Congress is a century-odd-year-old party. It faced many ups and downs and it is a national party. It has many strategies and leaders. A debate is going on about what happens if the Congress bigwigs won't implement the promises after the merger.

It is said that the T-Congress leaders are doing whatever they can to stop YS Sharmila from joining the Congress party. Many say that PCC Chief Revanth Reddy and other strong Telangana supporters are jointly opposing YS Sharmila.

However, no one knows the capacity of her vote bank. It's been more than two and a half years since she started her party. Though her meetings and Padayatras saw big crowds a few times, they are not parameters for the vote bank. It is yet to be known how much vote bank she can get. Though it is expected that YSR fans would shift to the Congress party, the percentage is likely just one percent.

The Congress leaders are reportedly saying that even if Sharmila can bring a one percent vote bank, there is a threat of Congress losing around 6 percent with Andhra-origin Sharmila being a part of the party. Many say that it would not be a surprise if Sharmila joining the Congress would benefit the BRS in regions like Khammam and others.

The Congress party is likely to sweep the Khammam district. Those who oppose Sharmila ask why to spoil the situation by giving Paleru ticket. Many say that the possibility cannot be ruled out.

They say that it would be good if Sharmila is not fielded in the direct politics in Telangana if she is welcomed into the party. A proposal says that Sharmila should be made the representative of Congress by giving her a Rajya Sabha membership from Karnataka. With this, she becomes a national leader and there would be certain benefits if she targets CM KCR. KCR might also invoke the Telangana sentiment by attacking her.

They say that, by making Sharmila the national party representative, the party can also utilise her services in the future for the AP elections. Suggestions are coming that Sharmila should be differentiated from Telangana politics to get a benefit from her in AP. A group in T-Congress is reportedly saying that there would be no benefit from making her contest the Paleru seat. They are expected to inform the High command.

They say that Sharmila can be utilised as a star campaigner by inviting her into the party. But Sharmila is reportedly focused on Telangana politics. T-Congress leaders say that Sharmila’s claims of being born, raised, and studying here would not stand before the BRS. We have to wait and see how the high command sees Sharmila’s issue as she is adamant on the Paleru seat.
